A unique special walk to discover the route of the private road that linked Belper and Cromford before the turnpike (now the A6) was built in 1817.
The length is 8 miles, starting from the Mill at 10.30 and stopping for lunch at the "Family Tree", Whatstandwell after 5 miles, continuing to Cromford Market Place. Walkers need to let you know if they want to have lunch in advance, although I will reserve for 15 people now. There is a picnic location near as an alternative. It is possible to return to Belper by train or bus from Whatstandwell or Cromford. Walking boots needed, no dogs.
